What is APL?
APL (Assam Premier League) is an exciting new cricket tournament launched with the vision of promoting and providing opportunities to talented cricketers from Assam. The inaugural season is scheduled to be held in August 2026.
Registration Process
The player registration window has now closed. Aspiring cricketers were able to submit their registrations until 31st May 2026.
Number of Teams
A total of eight teams will compete in the tournament. The league is expected to feature franchises representing different regions and states, making the competition highly exciting and competitive.
How Can Fans Watch APL?
APL is expected to be broadcast live, bringing the action directly to cricket fans. While the official broadcasting partner is yet to be announced, there is growing speculation that the matches could be telecast on major sports networks, similar to other prominent domestic leagues.
Player Selection
The league aims to provide a platform primarily for Assam-based cricketers. Approximately 160 players are expected to be selected across the eight teams, while an additional 40+ players may be included in the standby pool for the tournament.
